How to improve performance of Kodi on any android tv box - Step by Step guide

There is a lot of talk about which Android TV box gives best performance when it comes to watching videos on Kodi or XBMC as there are so many different types of Android TV boxes hitting the market almost on a weekly basis.

I have personally tried many of them and I must say the default factory firmware most of the time is not up to the mark, especially the non-branded Android TV boxes. I have tried the following 3rd party firmware personally on ENY M8 and ENY M8S Android TV box. Giving the due credit these boxes deserve, they are one of the finest hardware in the market, Quad core processor, Octa Core GPU, 2 GB RAM, supports 4K video and H.264 video encoding.

These boxes can be used as Gaming box if the hardware is utilized at its full potential, which can be achieved using amazing firmware called Mega-Tron, Currently MegaTron supports M8, T8, Venz V8, M8S, M9 & MXQ . Now, lets talk about how to get this firmware on one of the support boxes. first of all, you must ensure you have a genuine box, if not, you will brick your box trying to install Megatron firmware, you have been warned.

How to install Mega-tron firmware on M8 or M8S
Step 1 : Download the Megatron firmware from here for your supported Android TV box.
Step 2 : Copy 3 files included in the downloaded folder factory_update_param.aml, M8-Megatron.zip & recovery.img into SD Card. Its advisable to format the SD Card with NTFS before copying the files.
Step 3 : now we need to load the firmware on to the box, you will need a SDCard loaded with 3 files, M8 box, HDMI plugged into TV or monitor, power adaptor (not plugged into the box) & toothpick.
Step 4 : Insert the SD Card in to the side of the M8 box. push the toothpick into the AV port, located at the back of the M8 box, press until you hear a tick, hold it there, now plug the power adaptor in to the power socket located at the back of the M8 box.
Step 5 : Now you will see on the TV screen Android logo in green in the middle in about 3-4 seconds, once you see this logo, remove the toothpick from the AV port. let it copy the files and install the firmware it wont take more than couple of minutes. M8 box will restart by it self once the firmware is loaded.
Step 6 : Well, that's about it, you are done, now explore the speed, additional Apps included with the firmware and be surprised with the performance improvement.
